1) EAST COST ROAD PROJECT
TNRDC had taken up improvement of the East Coast Road from Chennai to Pondichery to an extent of 113.2 kms at the cost of Rs.61 crores with an investment of Rs.5 crores from TIDCO. The project work commenced in February 2001 and was completed by December 2001 and the commercial operations started from March 2002. This road has been developed on a BOOT basis to ease the congestion on GST road to reach Pondichery. Ambulance and Phone facilities enroute till Pondichery are provided by the TNRDC.

2) IT CORRIDOR PROJECT
TNRDC has formed a special purpose vehicle (viz)., IT Expressway Limited (ITEL) to implement IT Corridor Project as a world class Six lane road from Madhya Kailash junction to Siruseri for a distance of 20 Kilometers and also ECR link road of 2.2 Kilometers. This project is to implement improvement and widening of existing road and also provision of service lane, Non Motorised Vehicle lane/ Foot path, Central Median, Service Ducts/ Trenches along the entire stretch of the project road. Landscaping and beautification were also planned as part of the project.

The estimated cost of this project is Rs.205 crores (excluding land acquisition cost). State Government has sanctioned an assistance of Rs.34 crores through TIDCO for this project including Rs.12.5 crores under ASIDE scheme.
