IT Expressway Ltd (ITEL) is a wholly owned subsidiary of Tamil Nadu Road Development Company Ltd (TNRDC). The Project is implemented in two phases. In, Phase-I the existing Rajiv Gandhi Salai 20.1 km stretch between Madhya Kailash Temple Junction and Siruseri are being improved. In addition to this, in Phase –I, the 2.1 km long ECR Link Road connecting IT Corridor at Sholinganallur and East Coast Road is also widened to dual two lane carriageway. The estimated cost of the phase I of the project is Rs.290 crores excluding cost of land, rehabilitation and resettlement. The main carriageway work has been completed. The Hon’ble Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu had inaugurated the road for use by public on 29.10.2008. The toll collection had commenced from 15th December, 2008.

The works relating to CMWSSB and TNEB are in progress. Once the works of CMWSSB and TNEB are completed, TNRDC will take up construction of service road, foot path, non-motorised vehicle lanes, etc, and the entire work will be completed by December, 2009. The land acquisition for the Phase II of IT Corridor Project from Siruseri to Mahabalipuram is in progress and TNRDC is facilitating it.
