The Tamil Nadu Industrial Development Corporation (TIDCO) on Monday signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Hyderabad-based GMR Infrastructure for a joint sector initiative to set up a multi-product Special Economic Zone (SEZ) in Krishnagiri district. The MoU was signed in the presence of Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi. GMR Infrastructure was selected through international bidding.

April 04, 2007 - Sector specific SEZ for IT & ITES at Sholinganallur

Nuziveedu Seeds Limited (NSL), Secunderabad, the promoter along with TIDCO will implement the sector specific IT/ITES SEZ off the OMR at Sholinganallur, Tambaram Taluk, Kancheepuram district to build about 73 lakh sq. ft. for ITES space, residential retail and a 150 room hotel in an area of 66 acres of land purchased on their own at an estimated cost of about Rs.1500 crores.

The Promoters Agreement was signed in the presence of Hon’ble Chief Minister of Tamilnadu by C.M.D. TIDCO and M.D, Nuziveedu Seeds Limited, Secundrabad on 06-04-2007

This project is likely to create employment opportunities for about 25,000 persons and 50,000 persons indirectly. Zillion Estates Private Limited (ZEPL),a subsidiary of NSL has been incorporated as a Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) for implementing the sector specific IT/ITES SEZ. NSL is a leading agri biotech and seed company with diversification into power, textiles and infrastructure sectors. NSL has already obtained the formal approval from the Ministry of Commerce , Government of India for developing IT/ITES SEZs in Hyderabad, Chennai, Noida and Gurgaon.

3. NSL Group has appointed HOK Inc. (HOK) as the design consultants for the Project. Assetz Property Services Private Limited (Assetz) has been roped in as the Project Development managers for the Project, Zillion Estates (P) Ltd. and NSL have already got the formal approval for 43 acres to set up sector specific SEZ for IT /ITES. Subsequently, the approval has been transferred to Zillion Estates (P) Limited. The proposed project will attract huge investments from Domestic and International Investors into the State and the project is expected to be completed in 48 months.
